What Should I Take When?

All of Emerge’s offerings weave together to form the foundational knowledge & body preparation you want and need to feel confident, empowered and ready to meet your pregnancy, birth and baby…and yourself. You may be wondering which class is the right one for you. Or when should to schedule bodywork sessions?

Here’s a quick breakdown of each offering and guidance on when to begin.

Prenatal Movement

Great to start as early as you feel comfortable joining. Health benefits are for you and your babe. Plus, the sooner you carve out this time for you - the more in tune with your body you will be for birth.

Mondays 5:30 - 6:30PM

Empowered Childbirth

Ideal during the 2nd trimester and valuable during any stage of pregnancy. Focuses on holistic and evidence-based learning with an emphasis on understanding the physiology and anatomy of birth. Late pregnancy, newborn learning and postpartum also covered. Ideal for birthers and their support person(s).

Group classes offered every 3 months. Private sessions offered based on your schedule.

Moving, Breathing, Birth

Perfect during the 3rd trimester and focuses on labor & birthing tips and coping strategies. Strong emphasis on the anatomy of birth and movement & positions to help during the different stages and stations of labor. Ideal for birthers and their support person(s).

Group classes offered every 2 months. Private sessions offered based on your schedule.

Preparing Your Pelvic Floor for Birth

Great to do during the 2nd or 3rd trimester. For the birthing person. Offered as a workshop or private session. If you have previously purchased my pelvic floor videos you receive a discount on the workshop. Workshop participants receive a $25 discount toward a Private Pelvic Floor appointment. Build and expand your knowledge of the pelvic floor muscles and how they impact birth. develop deeper awareness & practice pushing!

Move & Breathe w/ Baby

Perfect any time 2+ weeks postpartum. Offered on a series basis with drop-in options. This gentle class is open to all parents/caregivers to join. Enjoy a safe and welcoming space to take care of you while caring for baby.

Pelvic Floor & Core Connection After Birth

6 weeks & beyond postpartum. Offered as a workshop a few times a year or as a private session*.

Tending You: Bodywork w/ Baby

Newborn to scooters and early crawlers welcome. Tuesdays 9:15 - 10:30. A donation-based gathering offering a safe and welcoming space to hang out and connect with other parents and babies. Receive 15 minutes of hands-on bodywork while baby is being tended to by the others present. We are all in the same room.

Parenting: Co-Regulating w/ Your Children

6 weeks postpartum and onward.* A light, playful, somatic (body focused) approach to adjusting to parenting. For the adults in your child's life. Learn somatic skills and nervous system regulation techniques to help you better meet your baby/child.

Offered in 60 or 90 minute sessions with parents/caregivers. Newborns and older babies welcome. If bringing older children, we will start with a 30 minute or 45 minute session.

*scheduling a session before baby arrives is great planning as well. Zoom or in person.

Spinning Babies® Parent Class

Ideally 20 weeks+ during pregnancy - for birthing person and their support person(s). This class focuses on things to practice during pregnancy to help prepare for birth as well as The Three Balances℠, belly mapping and Daily Essentials as presented by Spinning Babies®.

Move, Grow, Learn

Movement grows your baby’s brain. Movement grows your brain. Come together with other new babies and their families and learn fun, simple ways to connect through movement, eye contact, facial expression and sound.  Learn effective ways to take care of your body while caring for baby. Think outside of the box with new ideas to destress those challenging moments of navigating parenting babies.

Prenatal Bodywork

Ideal to begin with gentle Somatic Bodywork while trying to conceive through week 16. After 16 weeks, establish a regular bodywork routine throughout pregnancy and to prepare for birth. Here are some ways that Emerge’s approach to somatic bodywork are helpful: Calm the nervous system, Reduce Stress, Balance the body, Educate mind and body for the path ahead, Process & prepare with trauma-informed care, Reduce pain symptoms, and more.

Postpartum Bodywork

While we are transformed in many ways after birth, and receiving bodywork is helpful years after your birth(s), plan in advance, for a session sometime between 1 and 12 weeks postpartum. These sessions will look different for each individual person. Some may schedule an at-home session soon after birth. Other’s may wait a little longer and focus on: stress release, calming, pelvic floor muscles and pelvis pain, diastasis, helping with body aches, processing and healing with trauma -informed care, and so much more.
